Who was this program designed for? This program was designed for the new supervisor or a more experienced supervisor who would like a refresher. How will our organization benefit by enrolling its employees in this program? Once your employees successfully complete this program, they will have a solid foundation of core competencies to build from and a basic understanding of other casino departments, giving them a global perspective that permits them to move vertically or horizontally in the organization. How long will it take to complete this program? This is a self-paced, on-demand program that requires discipline, so the length of the program may vary from student to student. The average time to complete the program is nine months. What is our organization’s cost to enroll students? That depends on whether your organization has purchased an enterprise license for multiple users or is only sending a few students through the program. See the Pricing chart below. The program is built on the Microsoft platform. All students will need is a PC with Windows 98 or higher, an internet connection, and free downloadable media players. Is this program really designed for casino employees? Yes. This program is designed by gaming experts with many years of casino experience specifically for casino employees. How will our employees benefit from completing this program? Employees who complete this program should experience an increase in confidence and a substantial increase in the leadership behaviors and practices preferred by organizations. Who is the certifying body? Red Rocks Community College in Denver, Colorado, certifies this program Lakewood. Since this program is certified by a college, do my employees receive college credit for completing this program? At the present time, students who complete the program will receive a Certification of Casino Management. In the future, however, Red Rocks Community College is planning to roll out an Associate’s program in Casino Management. Since each organization’s culture is different, how does this program teach about our particular culture? We provide a foundation for and understanding of horizontal global casino issues. Through course assignments and working with field advisors, students gain a complete picture of your casino’s culture and how their new found wealth of knowledge applies to your particular organization’s culture. What are students required to do to receive a Certification of Completion? Student must complete 5 required modules and three elective modules, and they must successfully pass a final written exam, a final oral exam, and have an 80% or higher grade on class participation. Can you provide me with some of the ways this program will impact my ROI? Well, to name just a couple, when your employees have completed this program, you should experience a reduction in turnover, not only with future leaders, but also those they supervise. They will also be better equipped to meet your budgetary and scheduling requirements, which will have a positive impact on operational costs. What percentage of time will our employees be taken from their jobs to complete this program? That is up to the individual organizations. But, since employees will benefit from this program, we recommend that they go through it on their own time, which demonstrates a commitment to succeed. Can my organization purchase individual modules to share with a group of employees? Yes, modules are available for purchase as stand-alone learning pieces. You may purchase any module of your choice for $395. This module may be shared with any number of employees at your casino. They will be able to view the multimedia presentation, do the assignments and exercises, review the tips, and take the quiz. However, modules that are shared with a group don’t permit individual employees to receive credit for the module. It is my understanding that our employees will have a field advisor assigned to them from our casino. What is a field advisor? A Field Advisor is an experienced, skilled manager within the casino industry, ideally working within the casino where the student is employed. Students sponsored and enrolled by organizations will need a Field Advisor recruited by their organization. A Field Advisor recruited by Human Resources in a specific casino may receive recognition for his/her service as a Field Advisor. |
