The Casino Management Certification Program requires
approximately nine months for successful completion. The nine-month commitment has to be made by both the student and the in-house Field Advisor
to ensure the student’s success. The five Core and seven Elective modules are broken down into manageable web-based modules. A student must finish
all five required core modules and any three elective modules to receive certification. Each module has five to seven classes within the module.
Students are required to complete six steps successfully within every class to receive credit for that class. Once all classes within the module
have been completed successfully, the student will take a comprehensive post-examination to quantify understanding of material presented in the
entire module. Each module utilizes unique web-based solutions that provide the students with a blended learning environment in which they will be
able to thrive and learn.
The six steps in each class to be completed are as follows:
Step One: Review Multimedia Presentation(s)
The multimedia presentations may be in the following format:
Video/Audio
Video/Audio/PowerPoint Slides
Audio/PowerPoint Slides
Audio/Text
Audio/Text/Graphics
(The multimedia presentations are available On-Demand via a series of CD-ROMs students will receive once they register.)
Step Two: Complete Assignments
The assignments may include the following:
Research
Hands-on participation
Reading
Step Three: Complete practice exercises
The practice exercises consist of simulated situations that occur within a casino environment that relate to
the particular content for that class. The student will read about a situation that may occur within a casino
and then the student will write a brief description on how to handle that situation. Each class will have a minimum of ten practice exercises.
Step Four: Review Tips
The Tips will provide the student with a unique method for obtaining valuable information about the class
content from industry experts. Tips will be provided by casino employees and gaming industry experts with
years of experience across a vast market.
Step Five: Review Shorties® and add entries into Workbook
The student will review a number Shorties. Shorties are short multimedia presentation (5 to 8 Minutes in
length) that supports the content presented in the class. This is the section where students will enter
what they have learned in the class. Assignments, Practice Exercises and Discussions with Field Advisors
will also be automatically entered into the Workbook.
Step Six: Complete course quiz
The quiz will be comprised of a number of questions from each class within the module. The quiz
will provide verification that the student has comprehended the material presented in all courses
within the module. This will be a precursor to the final exam that will be required to receive a Certification Certificate.
Certification
In order for students to receive a Certification they must:
Complete all Modules successfully
Complete a Workbook
Receive a combined score of 80% or higher on the Oral Exam (Conducted by Phone), the Written Exam, and Class Participation
Casino Participation
For this program to be 100% successful, casino operators where the students are employed must participate.
To ensure casino operators’ participation, the program offers other unique tools that will ensure students’
overall success. These tools include:
Section for Casino Operator to assist in the selection of qualified student candidates
Student commitment contract (Optional)
Section for Field Advisor requirements and suggestions
Field Advisor and Student Discussion Board
Student Support
The Student has two methods of support: First, a discussion board for student and Field Advisor;
and, second, e-mail support from Industry Experts. These tools will be available for students to pose
questions regarding any topic pertaining to the curriculum. Questions will be answered in asynchronous
time by the Facilitators, Students’ Field Advisors, and Gaming Industry Experts.
